Weighing the Atmosphere

Most of the time, we use a scale or balance when we want to weigh something. But this doesn't work for the atmosphere. While the air around us may seem weightless, its weight actually adds up quickly when you think about how much air is on top of you. So how do meteorologists measure the weight of air? They use an instrument called a barometer. This is one of many instruments meteorologists like Anna Mani use to measure the weather, climate, and atmosphere around them. Follow the guide below to construct your own barometer to monitor air pressure.
