Plants need light to grow, and they have special cells which help them know how much light is in their environment. Based on their measurements, the special cells tell the plant when and how to grow. Dr. Marie Clark Taylor was interested in learning exactly how plants get information about light from their environment.
Follow the instructions below to grow some bean sprouts yourself! Try to see if changing the amount of light the sprouts get causes any changes in their growth. Send us photos of your sprouts and let us know what you observed by tagging us on social media: @wowstem.
